In 2018 we are expanding our services to meet the needs of more Western Australians. Our new services include:
Continence assessment and management for people receiving high level Home Care Packages
We have introduced this new private billing service specifically to meet the needs of clients receiving high level Home Care Packages, who are unable to attend hospital-based continence clinics and/or those who do not meet the eligibility criteria for other services.
This new service is staffed by our qualified continence advisors who have over 20 years of experience assessing and managing clients in the aged and community care sectors.
Our service offers:
- Comprehensive bladder, bowel, and continence assessment* either in the comfort of your client’s home or in our clinic (*includes urinalysis, bladder scan and assessment of bladder and bowel function)
- Development of continence care plans
- Advice and prescription of incontinence products
We work in partnership with the client, their carer/s and service providers (where appropriate) to develop and monitor continence related goals.
This service has been developed in response to service providers, clients, carers, and families contacting our helpline for assistance with continence management. Incontinence has a significant impact on the quality of life and wellness of clients and their carers. Our expertise in continence management can assist in improving the management of incontinence and lessening the negative impact on both the client and their carer/s.

Continence assessment and management for eligible National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clients
Bladder and Bowel Health Australia is currently a registered provider with WA NDIS. An application is in progress for registration under the federal NDIS model that is due to be fully adopted in Western Australia.
It is important to discuss continence issues with your planner/coordinator to ensure that services to provide continence assessment and management are included in your NDIS plan.
