The recommended fluid intake for children is 6 – 8 cups of fluid a day. The cup size will vary between younger and older children.
The serving size of smaller cups used for toddlers and young children is around 100- 150 mls per cup.
The cup sizes for older children are around 250 – 300 mls.
Fluid intake may need to be adjusted for other factors including the weather, amount of physical activity, body size of the child and the fluid content of other foods and drinks that the child is consuming.
